MACF Community Grant Application

Reviews & Awards Community Grants

The Minot Area Community Foundation’s grantmaking process is one step in a cycle of philanthropy that exists to assist and complement the work of charitable organizations in our area. Grants are awarded from the discretionary and field of interest funds donors have established, and the Foundation maintains full discretion over all grant making decisions.

What We Fund

Additional considerations: The Foundation also weighs the capability of the requesting agency and its personnel to achieve expected results, the agency’s past stewardship, the adequacy and professionalism of its budget, and its cooperation with other agencies involved in similar projects.

Grantee Testimonial

“We started off our grant application for Minot Area Community Foundation (MACF) with a bit of anxiety as they are one of the larger foundations that we planned to approach for our project. Once the process began, we found the MACF staff to be incredibly supportive. It felt like working with a neighborhood organization instead of a large foundation. Staci was super responsive, asked clarifying questions, and guided us through the process of fine-tuning our application. We didn’t have to have all the answers walking in the door, we simply needed to be willing to stretch ourselves, dig deeper with our team to find answers to complex questions, and maintain a dialogue with MACF throughout the process. We never expected to feel so supported in a process that normally centers around an exchange of data. In so many ways, the process felt personal and showed how deeply the Foundation staff and board care about the causes they serve, even our little organization (St. Ann’s Mission), which is in the outskirts of Minot. We are so grateful to MACF for their interest in rural North Dakota communities and their support as we continue to serve the Rolette County area.”
